Net-atHome™ in a few words
The Net-atHome™ event, is a two-day conference and exhibition focusing on the domain of the networked home, also identified as the connected home, and more widely as the high-tech or digital home. More precisely, the event focuses on technological and market developments in the areas of home networks and gateways, networked appliances, and advanced services for the home (based on home platforms or infrastructures).
Over the years, Net-atHome™ has become the largest conference and exhibition in Europe devoted to this domain (it gathers annually 200 to 250 delegates and 20 to 30 exhibitors), and the only one in the world with a true international dimension (not only all key European stakeholders but also most leading stakeholders from other regions send delegates to Net-atHome™: US and Canada, Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, China, India, and Australia, Latin America, Africa, etc.).
Net-atHome™ is well-known to truly offer each delegate a unique opportunity to access highly valuable information, to network with a great number of key stakeholders worldwide, and eventually support the development of his projects.
Addressed topics
The connected home area is quite vast and the conference objectives are quite ambitious. This inevitably leads, on the occasion of each Net-atHome™ event, to a very lively exchange of information and debate on a large number of topics, in the framework of thematic sessions. The precise themes of the sessions, and the contributors to each sessions are selected only after the call for papers process is closed and 3 to 4 months at the earliest before the event, to make sure that most recent developments and the hottest issues are addressed during the event. However, some topics are quite recurrent and it is probable that the below ones will be discussed during one or more sessions: |
 |
- Which technologies and standards (in the field of home networking, home platforms and gateways, access networks) are imposing themselves today or likely to be dominant in the short term?
- Which products and services are the most promising for the short to medium term and why (how are they answering to consumer needs and expectations, why is the business model relevant, why is the distribution channel adapted)?
- What are the actual opportunities and threats linked to the ongoing globalisation of connected home markets?
- How can we suitably address the "extending home" (apartment buildings, communities, people on the move, etc.)
- When will major emerging challenges (ageing population, sustainable development, eHealth) really impact the development of connected home markets?
- Are major short to medium term market perspectives mainly linked to the deployment by service providers of wireless broadband solutions?
- Who will be the dominant players in the short to medium term?
- How can we solve issues leading to coherent home infrastructures able to fully support market development: middleware, standards and interoperability, QoS, safety and privacy, "the" gateway, the role of integrators, etc.
Who are you likely to meet at Net-atHome™?
- Companies from all sectors involved in the domain in Europe and worldwide (typically represented by their project managers, marketing and business development managers, technology and R&D managers, etc.)
- The most innovative start-ups and SMEs (represented by their CEOs, vice-presidents, marketing and business development managers)
